VCB and Netbackup

Hi,

This question concern a test lab concerning VCB.

We have 3 esx 3.0.1 server, VCs 2.0.1 and a Netbackup master server.

We installed VCB on the NBU master server with the intgration module.

We doesn't work with domain structure.

When we used vcbmounter command the vmdk file are correctly mounted on the VCB mount point.

But when we used Netbackup and integration module script, we cannot see the VM into the mount point and the job failed with the following error:

NONE FILE IN THE FILE LIST

It seems that the integration script cannot mount vmdk.

Can anybody with VCB and Netbackup experience help me?

Me too.

3 x esx 3.0.1 servers, VC 2.0.1 and VCB proxy is a netbackup media server 6.0MP4.

Have a "vmware_backup" AD account with full admin access in VC.

Installed VCB framework and NB module.

I can mount virtual hosts etc but when I run NB job it fails with same error. Doesn't seem to mount vhosts at all.

Any help would be great.

Hiya,

I had a similar problem with VCB and Netbackup.

It turned out that I had two problems:

a) I had not realised that // denoted a comment in the example config.js

Once I "uncommented" the changes I had made that worked OK

b) I had not realised that a new Netbackup policy defaults to a schedule where the allowable time windows for backups are set to none.

Standard backups seemed to work OK even so - but all VM backups failed.

Once I amended the time window to be 24 * 7 - my VM backup jobs ran OK too.

Hope this helps

Dinny

Hi,

i resolved my problem!!

I had not realised that all path line on config.js script, command line and in Netbackup file list must be with the exact key (sensitive key)

Thanks.
