VCB Help required - Vcbmounter.exe

Hi,

Can i mount only one disk (vmdk) from a VM using vcbmounter.exe. eg:- Suppose a vm with 5 vmdk files attached. I want to mount only 1st vmdk say disk1.vmdk and take backup of the same. Is it possible to avoid to attach all vmdk to backup proxy.

if i use "vcbmounter.exe -h host -u user -p password -a ipaddr:vm -r c:\mnt\vm -t fullvm", this will attach all disks attached to the vm. I want only disk1 out of many disks

Pls help out.

Thanks & Regards,

Jalith

You can set the state of the disk to "Independent / Persistent" in VirtualCenter, than vcbmounter will not backup it up. There's no way to specify a specific disk unfortunately.

For setting the state to "Independent / Persistent" need to take downtime of VM. If that is the case i could dettach drives and take the backup. Kindly check any other options are available.
