User Access to a VM

Since the vnc backdoor doesnt work in esx 3.5, is there any existing webapp besides the builtin ui that I can give a set of users access to a few vm's with?

I don't want to use the existing ui for security reasons and it seems to be far to confusing for the users.

Thanks!

Depending on what kind of access the users require, you could either let them access the VM OS directly (RDP, VNC etc.) or create a User with the role of Virtual Maschine User, Virtual Maschine Power User, Read-Only, Virtual Maschine Administrator etc. in Virtual Infrastructure Client for the Virtual Center.

Hello,

Windows VMs, use RDP

Linux VMs, use VNC, or RDP

You will need to set up the guest OS appropriately. I would restrict access to the Remote Console to just admins.
