I upgraded my server from 16 gig of ram to 24 and ESX still reflects only 16 gig, BIOS memory test shows 24 gig, how can I get ESX to see the added ram without re installing?
It should automatically see it. What type of server is it? Is it the same type of RAM as the 16GB?
DL585G2, same ram as the 16 gig, server sees it fine, esx does not.

Did you by any chance plug the memory in slots related to empty CPU sockets?

All CPU sockets filled
BIOS and bootup see all 24 no problem
