Upgrade from ESX 3.0.1 to ESX 3.5

Sorry if this is a double post, but my original thread gives me a "system error" message when I click on the link.

I'm upgrading an ESX 3.0.1 server to ESX 3.5 tomorrow. There is no VC to install/upgrade. The virtual machines have been backed up. Would the best approach be to boot the server of the ESX 3.5 disk and run the upgrade?

Thanks!

Have you read through vmware's upgrade guide - - but yes if you only have a single ESX host that would be the best way to boot from the installation CD -

Yup, went thru the guide, but I got a little confused. Thanks for the clarification.
