Update task completes but update repository is unchanged since 11-26-2008

Hello,

Update signature task is planned on a daily basis, performs well, yet, when I look my repository (its location has been moved to

<patchStore>D:\VMWare\VMware Update Manager\Data</patchStore>

in the vci-integrity.xml file), nothing has changed since November 26th, 2008. Specifically, D:\VMWare\VMware Update Manager\Data\hostupdate\esx\esx-3.5.0 is dated from November 26th, 2008

I've been looking around for answer but was not able to find anything relevant.

Wouls someone have an idea ?

It might sound silly, but is the service running? and do you use a proxy?

VMware update Manager Service is running but VMware update manager guest agent is not. And I am not using a proxy.

I called VMware support. Brian was very helpful. We reinstalled VMware Update Manager, and now it seems to be working.

I've read in a forum that VMware have the problem fixed. I've rerun the task and it work's fine now without reinstall the Update Manager.

I was having a similar problem.

I have all the host updates since 12/02/2008 so I ran the Update Manager Update Download scheduled task to get the new patches up to 01/30/2009.

The first time the task ran, it reported the error "Web site hosting the update signature signatures ... cannot be reached".

The second time the Update Signature task ran quickly to completion. No change to the repository.

The third time the same. No change to the repository.

I then searched these forums, looked at the logs in the All Users\Application Data area, scratched my head, then ran the task a fourth time. This time Update Signature "stuck" at 33% and I watched the new patches load into the Repository.

A half hour later it still is at 33% but I "think" I have the patches. Repository says so. Wish I could see them on the disk!
