Update VC 2.5 and ESX 3.5

I'm looking for a detailed procedure for my successful update.
I'm in an environment:

1 VC 2.5 U2
ESX 3 U3

And I want to go:

VC 2.5 U6
ESX U5

Can you help me please to make this update in providing me with a procedure.

when you download the patches, there is a release notes file which would guide you.

First upgrade the vCenter Server and VUM.

Then use VUM to patch the hosts.

Finally upgrade VMware Tools.

The vCenter update usually do not require a reboot.

I suggest to close all the VIC connection.

But the host upgrade require a reboot (and hosts are put in maintenance mode during the update phase).
