Unstable server without independant/persistent disks enabled

Hi all,

just wondering if anyone has come across this problem. Running ESXi 3.5.0 199239, I have 5 VMs on a host. 3 linux servers, a SBS and a TS. All the servers run fine, except for the TS. The TS has about 25 users on it at any given time.

Basically when I have non-independant disks for the TS, users experience constantly crashing applications. Not limited to any particular app, but totally random crashes, with your general runtime error, or illegal operation, etc. Turning on independant / persistent disks fixes all problems, and the application errors stop occuring.

Any suggestions?

looks strange, are you able to provide any logs during the crash?

Weird. Any events on Event Viewer? Check also if the Windows drivers are up to date. For example, if you use LSI logic and XP: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1007035
