Unable to transfer file using SCP

I tried to copy the data under one of the VM's mount point using SCP but keeping getting the following error prompt. What could be wrong?

Entering directory: D0755 0 inventory

./db/oracle/db/tech_st/10.2.0/inventory: Cannot allocate memory

Hello,

I think this is more an Oracle issue than a VMware issue. CHeck out the permissions and type of file inventory is. If you are running out of memory for SCP the file could be a type that SCP can not read. The question is this VM a windows VM or a Linux VM (it looks like a Linux VM)? What is the target? Which SCP are you using? Have you shutdown Oracle, etc.

I would go to the Oracle forums for assistance.
