Unable to power on VMs after the upgrade.

Guys,

I have just upgraded my VC to 2.5 and ESX box (guinea pig) to 3.5.

Everything seemed to have gone fine and I had no errors or problems that I noticed.

However, now I try to power on VMs that are stored locally on that ESX box and I get:

VMControl error -999: Unknown error: SoapError: ServerFaultCode(1520) : (A general system error occurred: )

I have tried restarting mgmt service, I have made sure all VMs are off (I had to kill one process), searched on the forums and on "Known Issues".. I cant find anything.

Any ideas? Have anyone seen this?

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Does this only happen with VMs that are stored locally?

If it happens with all VMs, have you checked licensing? There's a known licensing issue with ESX 3.5 on hosts that have more as 2 processor sockets. The good news on that is that there's an update released that addresses this.
