Unable to log to vic connection failed

hello,

I can't connect with VIC to my esx 3.01. An error occured: connection failed.

I can log in ssh via putty but no more with my VIC.

I try to see what happens and the service mgmt-vmware was stopped! I rerun it and same trouble...

Do you know other services which have a link to the VIC? They are maybe stopped...

Or do you now how to solve this problem?

I don't see a lot of problems in log files...

Thanks

Alex

As I understand it, the vpxa service is installed when you add the ESXX host to VC 2.x (You are talking about Virtual Center 2.x right?)

you can enter rpm -qa |grep vpx to make sure that the RPM is installed. If not, then search the forum for manuall install of VC agent. You may have to ry to install it manually.

you should also check the vmware-vpxa service.

Strange...

I have this issue:

\# /etc/init.d/vmware-vpxa status

-bash: /etc/init.d/vmware-vpxa: No such file or directory

\# service vmware-vpxa status

vmware-vpxa: unrecognized service

Are you running these commands as root?

I have not virtual center. It is a single esx box.

rpm -qa |grep vpx shows me that the rpm is not installed...

It is not a VC problem.

Yes I launch this command as root...

Hi,

How did you find that there was a syntax error in this file?

what is the error?

I've got the same issue and don't find anything wrong....

Thanks
