Unable to initialize disk EMC Raw Device Mapping

Add the disk as per the server config guides. But each time I try to initialize the disk it fails with an unspecified error.

Have you come accross this before. Under pressure and any help is greatly appreciated!!!

This is probably not relevant but the only time I have seen the "Unspecified Error" is when running VMWare on a standalone server with no connection to any network.

Physical or virtual compatibility mode? Have you presented to all your ESX servers and ensured the LUN ID is the same?

Is there data on the LUN already? Is the guest powered off when you are trying to add th RDM?

Edit: Actually are you trying to do this for MSCS? If so have you already got it presented to another cluster node?
