Dear all,
in order to clone a VM machine we are using this command
vmkfstools -i vm2a.vmdk ../vm2b/vm2b.vmdk
Destination disk format: VMFS thick
Cloning disk 'vm2a.vmdk'...
Clone: 89% done.Failed to clone disk : Read beyond the end of file. (1799)
I should mention that vm2a is a SLES 10 system which nis running perfectly.
Any idea howto proceed now?
THX for any help!
Rainer
Sounds like the same problem i had with vcbmount.
i know this is old but maybe my resolution to
http://communities.vmware.com/message/474283 is something that might
help.

Try using absolute paths
vmkfstools -i vm2a.vmdk /vmfs/volumes/mystorage/vm2b/vm2b.vmdk
, i take it that you did shutdown your VM before running this command?

Hi Rainer,
Have to tried right clicking the VM and then click clone? This will do a live clone of the VM and you can find the vmdk file within your datastore.
Hope this helps
Mike.
