Unable to add storage even though ESX 3.0 Hosts can see the LUNS

We have 2 ESX 3.0 hosts that we are trying to attach 2 LUN's to.

The storage adpaters on both hosts can see all the LUNS when I look at the network configuration, however trying to "add storage: causes an error message of "server timeout" and we are unable to attach stoarge.

I've rescanned, I've tried to run the VirtualCenter client from each host individually, I've tried everything I can think of....

Upon looking at one of the ESCH hosts, I can see this error message in the console. "...has not been attached becasue it is a duplicate path or on a passive path".

Is this a new setup for these LUNs and what sort of SAN are you attaching to?

We have an AMS500 SAN, and we have created 2 new LUNS for these hosts. These will be the only machines connected to these LUNS.

UPDATE::

After changing the server timeout to be 15 minutes, we can now attach the storage.

It's slow, but it works now.
