Unable to add extent

I'm trying to add an extent to a vmfs3 datastore in ESX 3.5. The existing lun is 1TB using 2MB block size. I've presented another 500GB lun and all hosts in the cluster can see it. When I go to increase the lun I want to extend, I don't see the new lun in the list (it's empty). On another datastore in the same cluster that is using 1MB block size, I can see the new lun as space available to extent to. Is the block size the problem here?

Do an fdisk on the new presented LUN and check if there is not any partition into it. If it is, erase the partition and try it again.
