Two servers sharing an external scsi powervault raid array

We have an external scsi Dell powervault 220s that will hold 14 drives. The powervault can be setup to allow 2 servers simultaneous access to the raid array. Would it work to connect 2 VMware servers and let them share the storage? Would I be able to use VMotion from one server to another as if the powrevault were a san?

I believe this has been done in the past but note that

a. It won't be supported

b. May not work well if it works at all. IIRC there is some trick to getting it to work at all.
