Transferring license between hosts

Hi all - quick, and probably simple question...

We have 3 x VI Foundation and a VC Foundation, using server based licensing. We are about to replace one of the hosts with new hardware - how do we go about transferring the VI license? Is it just a case of setting the old host to "unlicensed" and then pointint the new one to the license server?

Thanks!

Hi,

That's correct, when you set the host you want to replace to unlicensed, you can use all features 60 days. You can use the license for the other host.

My experience has been once you set the old host to "unlicensed" you can no longer do certain important operations such as power on VMs. I've also found that you cannot switch the license source back to "Use Evaluation Mode" after the server has been installed 60 days
