Testing the ESXserver -- urgent-help

Hello All,

I need to check my ESX 3.0 Server by applying some load.i need to run the load in to my ESx server for more than 6 hrs.especially i need to check my ESX server local disk reliability.

Can any one help me how can i do this, is there any utility to perform this,if so please suggest me where can i get the utility and how can i install and how can i get the output.

You could create a VM that uses most of your VMFS partition and then use IOmeter within the VM. To use it you could create a VM (assuming Windows here) with a small C drive for the OS install and then a large D drive for the IOmeter test file. You can then set IOMeter to run for a certain period, to use certain I/O pattern (i.e. %read/%write / block size / random vs sequential access) and it will report on the results of the run.
