Suggestions for backup

Hi all,

Could anyone suggest me options for low cost backup hardware and software. Also how about drobo for backup solution.

For ESX 3.x, VCB is a good and cheap solution.

Remember also to use quiescent scripts into VM with database server, and to use system state backup (for example with ntbackup) for each domain controller.

IMHO is still a great tool.

If you understand the simple rule, and you are not afraid to do simple scripting, is very powerful.

Agreed. Hopefully the plan to make it just an API will also include some PowerCLI hooks...

Hi,

For small scale ESX 3.5 deployments I use Vizioncores vRanger product to back VM's up to disk, it offers differential backups as well as file level restores, then backup the disk to tape
