Software iSCSI with Fibre Attached SAN

Any tried using software iSCSI while attached to a fibre SAN at the same time?

yep, we have both ... Just attached iSCSI this week, used the software initiator to. Didn't run into any problems yet, works quite good.

We're using a NAS from SUN for this, just if you'd like to know.

Cool. I currently have an IBM BladeCenter attached to an IBM SAN. We are going to be installing an iSCSI solution, but we cannot install the Cisco switches to be used with the iSCSI hardware initiators until we remove the fibre switches.

So I am thinking about using software initiator to get the VM's migrated over to the iSCSI SAN, then pulling the fibre switches, installing the Cisco switches and then finally installing the hardware iSCSI cards into the blades.

Sounds like it should work, as we just implemented it, I can't offer more technical tips, other then the fact it works
