Size of VMFS Volumen

I know an ESX server can address upto 256 VMFS Volumens. Each Volumen could be up to 64TB. My question is, for 64TB volumen, Do I need 32 2GB luns or a single 64TB lun?

You owuld need 32 seperate 2 TB LUNs - the max size of a single extent is 2 TB - so oyu will need 32 extents to create 64 TB VMFS datastore -

So unless one uses extents, the VMFS volume will not exceed 2TB.
