Should I initialize disk , when using VCB SAN backup ?

I had install vcb proxy on a windows 2008 server , and presented the ESX LUNs to this server . After I presented those LUNs, some LUNs look good , others need I initialize the disk .

I can use vcbmounter.exe SAN backup successfully on those good status LUNs , but not working on those disk (not initialized) .

Should I initialize the disks ? I am afraid of corrupted the ESX LUNs after initializing .

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Don't initialize the disks. Check out kb 1002168 to confirm your fears and the Virtual Machine Backup Guide for the setup.

Good Luck!

Thanks for your kindly support !

I will not initialize disks, and will try to reboot vcb proxy server . Make sure it will be normal status.
