Server don't get the configured IP-address during boot

Hi,

I have set up a DHCP/PXE/TFTP/HTTP-Server to install our ESX Servers (ESX3.5) automatically via kickstart script.

During PXE section, the server gets the IP-address from DHCP server, the TFTP-Server serves the kernelimage and the kernel will be loaded.

The PXE config file looks like:

default 1 timeout 1 label 1 kernel vmlinuz append initrd=initrd.img ks=http://192.168.5.177/latest/esx.cfg ksdevice=eth0 ip=192.168.50.104 netmask=255.255.255.0 gateway=192.168.50.1

Until there everything is working fine.

After the kernel loads the driver for HBAs and NICs, the server determines the host name and Domain. At this point the network configuration given in the append section should be set. But this will not be done!

Any ideas, why this not happen?

Thank you in advance

Tino
