Hi Guys/Gals,
I've been doing a bunch of SV motions and am getting about a 15% failure rate with the error below. I cant see any commonality in the failures as they're random failures across different Datastores.
Going from IBM DS4300 to SAN Melody storage using the SVMotion plug-in on an 2.5.0 VC client. Has anyone had experience of this type of failure? My first thoughts to the cause leans towards the storage pathing..but It's hard to diagnose due to the randomness of it all.
Error:
"Received an error from the server: A general system error occurred: failed to copy disk(s) (vim.fault.InvalidDiskFormat)"
Any Idea's?

(possibly problems with svmotion when creating snapshots the same time)
Thanks, I've seen both of these posts, there are no snapshots happening so that rules that out. I'm waiting on our SAN guy to take a look to see if there's any I/O issues on the back end. I've seen some SCSI errors in the logs but there's been a lot of LUN's being removed and added recently that may be the cause...?:|
Yes maybe you asking now to much from your SAN .. let have your storage guy a proper look. maybe your FA ports are overloaded..
p.s. if you think answers are usefull or correct please award them with points.
I've seen this type of error before, and it was when there was issues with the SAN side of things - failing HBA, misconfiguration of a host etc. I'd look closer there, and perhaps increase the logging (in the advanced config section, Scsi.LogAborts, Scsi.LogMultiPath and maybe Scsi.PrintCmdErrors).
