SNMP on ESX 3.5

Hi,

I've tried to enable snmp on our esx servers according to this article:

...but it doesn't work. Our management app still cannot access the servers with the public community.

Now, is there anything not explained in the above article that I need to do before it will work? A reboot of the esx etc.?

Thanks in advance,

Rasmus

Hi Rasmus,

Could it be something related with pegasus bug? Have you fixed it?

Isn't Pegasus some sort of mail program?

This is SNMP not working - not SMTP Smiley Happy

Anyway, thanks for the time you took to post an answer.

Hi Rasmus,

Yes, also! Smiley Happy

Pegasus on ESX provides a CIM server, wich could be described as an "advanced snmp" (yes, i know, too simple description....)

Hello,

What management server will you be using for SNMP? That may help in trying to determine how to properly configure the system.

Hi,

We're using AdventNet OpManager with the new ESX monitor module (ESX MIBs are included).

Thanks,

Rasmus
