Looks like our on-board Adaptec HostRAID won't work with ESX 3.5 even though the Supermicro server is supported. Even with the RAID buildt the installer sees 2 individual drives.
So, has anyone had any luck with a SATA RAID 1 mirror on the LSI 8344ELP 8-port MegaRAID card? It's on the HCL with the RAID driver listed. And, they're going on eBay for about $140. Seems like an inexpensive RAID 1 setup for the host install.
