Restart necessary after domain change, same situation after restart

Hi community,

as you can already assume from the heading, my question is about the small arrow beside the configured domain at Configuration -->Software --> DNS and Routing. If I remember correctly, this means that a restart is necessary for the inserted value to be overtaken to the configuration, but why is it still present after a restart of the ESX?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

That is actually just warning you that modifying the name/domain will not take effect until the system is rebooted. I have that on all my hosts.

I think I have to reactivate this thread due to some new experiences. I did this config change again on another ESX 3.5 and after a restart the arrow disappeared. Unfortunately the arrow on the other ESX still doesn't disappear after a restart of the host. Whatcould be the reason?

Thanks in advance
