Reset root account password

Dear all,

I have very unusual question. Some times ago I begin work in new company which use VM solutions. First time I work with esx and VM Infrastructure. One of my problem is that person who work before me didn’t left passwords to esx root account so I am not able to add new user, make configuration and many other things. There is no possibility to get this password from him because he didn’t remember it.

Right now I have the physical access to esx3.5 servers and I have account which belong to administrator role in VM infrastructure server,

Could you please tell me is any possibility to get this password or to change it?

If yes could you please tell me how to do this step by step?

If you need other information which could be helpful to resolve my question please let me  know,

Thank you in advance
Best Regards
