ResCPU and Performance counters in VMware ESX

Hi,

I'm currently working on a VMware ESX Host, with some virtual machine on it.

I'm also trying to correctly monitor all those machines with performance counters given by ESX.

However, I don't understand some variables (few are given by the VMware API).

- resCPU.actav1 : Active time of CPU

- resCPU.runav1 : Running time of CPU

- resCPU.maxLimited : Limited time of CPU

VMware documentation (http://pubs.vmware.com/vi301/sdk/ReferenceGuide/index.html) is not very clear for those variables.

For some VM, those variables return more than 100%.

Another variable is unclear : CPU guaranteed. Even with CPU reservation on VMs, this value is always at 0.

Is it possible to have some additional information for those variables ?

Thanks for your help
