Remediate Update Manager VM

Here's my setup:

ESX 3.5u2

VC 2.5u2

VUM 1.0u2

I have Virtual Center running on one VM and Update Manager running on a separate VM. Is it possible to remediate the Virtual Center and Update Manager VM's? I tried to remediate my Update Manager VM and it hung at 40% and locked up the VM. I had to reboot the host to free the VM.

I think it should be work, just you need to ensure the VM are not locate at the host you try to patch

I have no problems remediating my hosts or other VMs... I'm wanting to know if I can remediate my VM that is running Update Manager. The last time I tried to remediate my Update Manager VM, it stuck at 40% on the task - remediating entity. When I tried to open the console on the VM, I received the message "VMX not started" even though Virtual Center showed the VM as running. I could not power off or perform any other tasks on the VM. I had to reboot the host to release the hung VM.
