Reconfigured space on disk in esx - now df- k on linux shows incorrect value

I added a disk to a centos 5.5 box @ 30gigs but then I found out it needed to be 60gigs to I went back in to the vm's settings and enlarged the disk to 60gigs... after rescanning the scsi bus fdisk -l showed the disk to be 60gigs so I thought thing's were fine so I formated the disk and moutned it on a directory. The user gets back to be and says that df -k is showing the drive is only 30gigs. What can I do to solve this? Do I need to reboot the box?

Increasing the disk size is one part, partitioning the disk the other one.

How did you partition the disk? Can you please post the output of fdisk -lu for the disk?
