Reconfigure for HA command missing from one of my hosts

The 'Reconfigure for HA command is missing from one of my hosts. My current ESX Server version/build is 3.0.2/61618.

I also get the following message when I select the summary tab within VC, VI Client

HA agent on in cluster in

Don't quite know why my HA would be diabled since it's not something I remotely recall doing.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I had this problem - specifically no option to reconfig for HA - and removing HA from the cluster and letting it configure, then adding it again and letting it configure, was the only way I could fix it. This was after the usual pinging of host names etc.

Good suggestion however my problem still exists. For some unknown reason (at the moment unknown) I can't configure HA on this particular host and it reports that the host HA agent is disabled.

You might want to thoroughly check the following files;

/etc/hosts

/etc/sysconfig/network

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-vswif0

I had a situation one time where an l (lower case L) was confused with a 1 (one :smileyshocked:).

Try all pings to and from all the cluster members using fqdns, maybe try a 'service mgmt-vmware restart'.
