Raw Device Mappings

Is it possible for a raw device mapping to a PCI-E device with a single virtual machine? I don't want to share devices on the ESX server, I just want to have a single client connect directly to the device.

With ESX 3.x is not possible.

With ESX 4.0 and supported hardware, yes (is called PCI passthrough).

When you say "ESX 4" do you mean VMware Sphere?

Yes.

vSphere is just the new name of "Virtual Infrastructure".

But is still composed by ESX + vCenter Server + ...
