RDP to VM's on a ESX 3.5 server.

Hi there,

I have an ESX 3.5 server with 4 Virtual Machines running on it. 3 Longhorn servers and I vista machine.

Since this mornig we cannot RDP to any of the machines .

"We get the following error message when trying to RDP: Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer because the authentication certificate received from the remote computer is expired or invalid. In somecases, this error might also be caused by an large time discrepancy between the client and the server computers."

The time on the ESX server is correct if I use the "date" command to check.

Any suggestions what could be causing this?

Regards

Nadine

What is the time on the vms, are the vms syncing their time with the host using vmware tools?

Hey Nadine,

Check the time on your VM's:

Did you install VMware Tools on those Virtual Machines?

If so, you can synchronize the time of the VM's with the ESX Host via VMware Tools.

Another option would be to sync time of the VM's with an external NTP Server.

Thank you so much Smiley Happy

This worked, I had the VM's sync their time with the ESX host via VMware Tools.

Thanks for your help.
