Quick question

Hi Guys,

I just finish to update my first cluster within 6 ESX Host from ESX 3.01 to ESX 3.5 and then to 3.5U4.

I woulc like to know if I can update directly from ESX3.01 to ESX 3.5U4?

I use the the SEX ZIP with this command: esxupdate update.

Cheers

If you take a look at the ESX 3.5u4 release notes under the Installation and Upgrade you'll see that for ESX 3.0.1 there is no tarball upgrade, you'll need to upgrade using the iso and there is a chart to help you plot out your upgrade paths

1. For ESX Server 2.5.1, ESX Server 2.5.2, and ESX Server 2.5.3, upgrade first to ESX Server 2.5.4 and then upgrade to ESX Server 3.5 Update 4. Alternatively, upgrade to ESX Server 3.5 and then upgrade to ESX Server 3.5 Update 4.

2. For ESX Server 3.0.0, upgrade first to ESX Server 3.0.1 or higher, and then upgrade to ESX Server 3.5 Update 4 by using an ISO image. Alternatively, upgrade to ESX Server 3.5 and then upgrade to ESX Server 3.5 Update 4.
