Hello,
Please have a look at the output of /proc/vmware/pci on ESX 3.5 SERVER:
#less /proc/vmware/pci
Bus:Sl.F Vend:Dvid Subv:Subd Type Vendor ISA/irq/Vec P M Module Name
Spawned bus
000:02.1 10de:005b 108e:cb84 USB NVidia 5/ 16/0x69 B C
005:00.0 8086:105e 108e:125e Ethernet Intel 5/ 16/0x71 A V e1000 vmnic5
Does this means that IRQ has been shared between USB Device attached to ESX 3.5 service console and Enternet device connected to ESX Server VMkernel?
Does this affect ESX Server or VM performance any way??
Thanks,
The IRQs are not shared.
USB uses IRQ vector 0x69 and vmnic5 uses vector 0x71.
Thanks for the quick response guys...highly appreciated
