Qlogic HBA recommended settings for VI3

Hi All,

I recall seeing a document with recommended settings for Qlogic HBAs - can anyone point me in the direction of this?

Or, are there any recommended changes to the default configuration for Qlogic HBAs when running VI3?

Thanks!

VMware does make several HBA configuration recommendations in their SAN Configuration Guide. E.G. Adjusting the HBA timeout for failover etc.

We are using the default settings on our 20 ESX hosts. I am pretty sure that is what vmware is recommending.

I guess it depends on what you are connecting to. I use the 4052c's and are attaching to a EqualLogic PS100E storage array. EqualLogic recommends changing some of the settings directly on the cards so I would say check with your storage vendor.

It's depends on recommendations for your storage controller for ESX environment.

Must be document with the name like "Connecting of ESX 3.0 to /StorageName/ via QLogic HBA".

Search web site of your storage vendor and you will find it for sure.

Nice one - thanks guys.

We are using an EMC Clariion - so I must have seen that document there.

Will go down this path.
