We are trying to use Ghost (Solution Suite 2.0) on a VM to push out partitions and files out to physical workstations. Both the Ghost VM and the physical workstations are Windows XP Pro.
Everything, including multicasting, worked when we tested Ghost on its own physical machine but when we set up a new machine as a VM multicasting stopped working. We can only singlecast from the VM. When we try to multicast both the server and the target machines freeze up.
It is the difference between the physical server and the VM that makes us think it might be something to do with VMware.
Are virtual routers capable of multicasting?
