Possible Fix for SLQ Log growth

My SQL Log grew to 13gb...I checked and for some reason, the database was on FULL Recovery..

Is there any need for that?

I set it back to simple and it cleared the log file..I had to run a DBCC Shrinkfile and all was good.

Although VC was down for a bit..

Is there any reason for it to be in FULL Recovery?

We noticed the same thing and set it to simple. I can't think of a reason as to why it needs to be in full recovery model as the odds of ever needing to perform a point in time restore seem very small.
