Pools

I am sorry for having to ask this question but, when I run a couple of scripts from the vi perl toolkit, the target pool is a requried parameter. We do not have specific pools per say, the vm's are just set up on different host, so how do I know what pool name to use?

Which scripts you trying to run?

Are your hosts managed with VirtualCenter or individual ESX hosts?

Hiya,

Are you sure it's definitely a required param?

I've used quite a few of the sample toolkit scripts and it has only ever been an optional paramater in those?

Yes, there are a number of scripte in the VI perl toolkit that require it, I have tried no entry there and it fails stating that the parameter for targetpool is required. I have found a temp workaround by creating a resource pool and migrating to it and then deleting the resource pool.

Thanks,

Louis

I believe there is an (undisplayed) default resouce pool in each cluster.

I had a browse through the MOB trying to see if it had a name.

The only one I could find seems to be named Resources

Try specifying that name and see if it works...
