Plug a Mouse/Keyboard into front USB port(hub) will stall ESX3.5U4 installation.

Plug a Mouse/Keyboard into front USB port(hub) will stall ESX3.5U4 installation.

I plug a Keyboard to my SunFire X4440 and when VMware begins to detect USB device, it hangs at the point:

usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs

usb.c: registered new driver hub

ehci_hcd 00:02.1: PCI device 10de:036d

ehci_hcd 00:02.1: irq 16, pci mem f880dc80

usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1

I know ESX3.5 didn't support USB2.0".But I think that means "you can't install VMware ESX3.5 GOS(VMs) on an external HD connected via USB2.0".

USB Keyboard and mouse should not stall an installation.

Anyone know the root cause?

BTW:

I found this, but my BIOS only support "high speed " mode and I can't change it.
