Platinum SNS for VI3 & Virtual Center Mgmt server

Hello,

i am currently looking at a quote for VMWARE and a have a price for Platinum SNS for 1 year (VI3 & Virtual Mgmt server). Is this required? i have looked at VMWARE's docs for more informatoin on this.

Do you have to have this support? If so what is for?

any help much appreciated.

There are different support policies. Platinum is the "advanced" one. You'll have e.g. faster response times

Yes - Support and Subscription is mandatory for all VMware products except VMware Workstation, VirtualCenter for VMware Server, and VMware Server. Platinum SNS entitles you to 24 * 7 phone support * 1yrs.
