Partition with script installation

Hello guys,

I'm using web interface to create script for automatic installation.

I remender that with manuel installation, I defined witch partition I will use : primary or extended partition.

On the web interface, I cannot choce witch partition to use. Is possible to make a choice ? Is it interresting to specify the partition ? How the scripted installation will create partition ?

Thank you for your help,

Olivier

Hello,

I would refer to the RedHat RHEL3 Sys Admin Guide to help you better understand kickstart files. The web interface does NOT contain everything so you may end up editing the resulting file by hand to add in what you desire.

Thank you very much.

I will test this next week.

Do you know, if I don't change the kickstart file, what are the created partition ?

I suppose / and /boot are on two primary partition and the others on one extended partion, isn't it ?

Hello,

Only /boot must be on a primary partition. So it really depends on how many partitions you are going to have. I write my own kickstart files so I control what goes where.
