P2V Multiprocessor NT4.

Hi,

have anyone success to P2V a NT4 with multiprocessor. I'm having problem at 1st startup with this error.

"Windows NT could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINNT\System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys"

Has done:

1. ERD - failed to boot up.

2. Inplace upgrade - failed to boot up.

3. Setup new NT4 in ESX. Copy over ntfs.sys. Still failed to boot up.

I'm not really sure what is the actual problem.

thanks for any help here.

I think to remember that NT4 conversion is supported only for uniprocessor.

If so you have to manually change the HAL of your NT kernel (and virtual hardware configuration).

Hi Andre,

do you mean that I need first to downgrade HAL on physical NT4 before migration?

As i'm not able to boot up the virtualized NT4 for me to change the HAL.

thanks for the answer.
