Now that I have added a Domain user, how do I get it to login via the web?

Thanks to the help of forum members, I was able to add a Domain user to the permissions for my DataCenter listed in my VIC server. ( http://communities.vmware.com/message/1262756#1262756 ) However, when I try to use the user credntials to login via the vmware virtual infrastructure web access I get an error.

Permission to perform this operation was denied.

I have tried two uses ... one is a VM Power user defined in This Object (VM Host) the other is an Administrator defined in Hosts & Clusters.

Any thoughts?

Both user doen't work?

Have you tried to put them also in the first node (at least with read only rule)?

Both yusers do not work. If I log onto the VIC server and navigate the tree on the left I get

Hosts & Clusters

DOMAIN \user Administrator this object

Administrators Administrator this object

MyDataCenter

DOMAIN \user Administrator Hosts & Clusters

Administrators Administrator Hosts & Clusters

ESX Host

DOMAIN\otheruser Virtual Machine Power Users This Object

DOMAIN \user Administrator Hosts & Clusters

Administrators Administrator Hosts & Clusters

Try to set the permission at "root" level (the node just before Datacenter).

Am I missing something? I believe that Hosts and Clusters is the "Root" level above Datacenters. That is all that I see at least.

Thanks

Yes, is the root.

I thought you have set at "Cluster" level.

In which Windows group are your users?

Do you have some strange group policy?

Did you select propagate in the permissions? Also, you are logging into WebAccess from virtualCenter, and not webaccess on the ESX host, correct?
