Not able to install Solaris Express Developer Edition ( SXDE ) as a guest OS on ESX 3.0.2

I have not been able to install the 09/07 release of Solaris Express Developers Edition (x64/x86) as a Guest OS on ESX 3.0.2.

In creating the VM, I selected Solaris-10 (64 bit) for Guest OS, 640MB memory, 1 CPU, LSI Logic for disk (15GB allocated).

ESX server has AMD Opteron processors (4). , using locally attached storage (SCSI disks).

I get the initial boot page, and select the SXDE install option. Boot process reports "SunOs Release 5.11 Version snv_70b 32-bit..."

Followed by "Configuring /dev". After which, no additional progress is made on the install. I let it continue for 30 minutes with no change in status.

Has anyone been able to install SXDE x86 as a VM using ESX 3.0.2? I have seen posts on some success with VMWorkstation.

Thanks for any help.

Sorry for the post. Seems I did not wait long enough :). Re-started install and checked it 2 hrs later and had a prompt back from the "Configure /dev". Not sure what is expected for normal configure time.

fyi: need to configure at least 768MB mem for graphical install process. The recommended 640 MB, drops one into text install mode.
