New ESX 3.01 install causing a md5 signature mismatch error

Currently trying to install ESX but on bootup the following error is shown

Starting VMware VMkernel authorization daemon Warning \{date time} error: md5 signature mismatch: Running vmkernel built on \_Unknown_ (vs vmkload_app built on Sep 26 2006 00:00:01).

I'm currrently heading of to the site with another ESX disk in case its an issue with the image copied from the CD but it did past the dick test.

Any other ideas would be welcome.

Unlike just about all the other systems I have 3.01 running on the server in question is on the compatibility list and up until about 2 hours ago was running 2.5.3 just fine.

Thanks

Before anyone starts to research this error in any detail, a new CD image resolved my issues.

I too have the same issue running ESX3 on a virtual machine.

I did a fresh install of ESX 3, 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 on two different machines.

Problem is still the same.

Any suggestions?

I got this issue when installing ESX within Workstation6. The issue appears to be solved when I granted more memory to the ESX Host (haven't doublechecked if this was really the case but at a second retry it worked out for me)

I'm not exactly sure how this test helps, but it did make me laugh until I cried....
