Network adapters - "Observed IP Range" changes every time I click out and back into it..

Why does the "Observed IP Range" change every time I click out and back into it..

Is this right? and "By design"?

Thanks

Hi Cos

The "observed IP Range" shows various broadcasts seen on your network... If trunking a lot of VLANs I would expect this'as the vSwitch dosn't support VLAN pruning..

The setup is basic. The ESX box is connected to the Cisco 3500 switch. We are on a VLan.

What's VLan trunking?

VLAN trunking allows a single network adapter to behave as "n" number of virtual network adapters.

Hi again, Cos..

Since your ESX is connected to a Cisco device, this might be interresting: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Data_Center/vmware/VMware.html
