Need to change the nic assigned to a virtual switch using the CLI

Hello,

I have stupidly assigned the two NIC's on our ESX server to a new Virtual Machine network with out assigining a Service Console to it and I have lost the ability to connect to the server and change it back.

Can some one please help me with the command I will need to assign one of the Service Consoles to the new Virtual Machine Network that I have created?

Many thanks in advance for you assistance.

hi

show me output for this command:

esxcfg-vswif -l

esxcfg-vswitch -l - using command esxcfg-vswitch with parameters you can assign vNIC to vSwitch

Hello,

Thanks for you reply but I managed to sort our the issue by looking at the following blog;

http://planetvm.net/blog/?p=423

I ran the command to assign the nics to Vswitch0 and I then had access again.

esxcfg-vswitch -L vmnic0 vSwitch0

Cheers,
