I only found one mention of this, in an HP forum, so thought I'd share it here in case anyone else runs into it.
On a DL580 G5, we noticed that the NIC for the VMotion connection had disappeared. Checking the server via the iLo, I noticed that one of the NICs had a weird looking MAC address: EA:5E:00:0C:EA:5E.
The fix: shut down, unplug all power cables, plug them back in. When it powered up the old MAC was back and the NIC was visisble to the the host. WHY it happened I have no clue...
